The ancient art of alchemy was about the power to change base metal into gold. Many tried to find the magic formula that would bring them riches.

The Earth always held the secrets of this transformation. Made from molten magma, the Earth turned seed to sustenance; turned decay to growth; turned season to season with birth and death. And such is our inheritance of learning and experience from her.

Today we understand the alchemy of the Earth through the exploration, creation, and honor. Plain matter becomes valuable when processed through simple transformation… having a stranger become a friend… recognizing a curse becoming a blessing… turning suffering into joy.

This weekend we will build our Earth Alchemy through our creative process with environmental art and experience. We will create and be responsible for our perceptions and interactions with the world through story telling, movement, walking the land, Labyrinth meditation, ceremony and collaborative environmental art as well as individual creations that you can take home or include in the group project.
